Hoe kun je nou heimwee hebben naar iets dat niet je ‘heim’ is? Toch heb ik het. Ik mis de vrijheid, de leegte, de vergezichten en met name ook de vriendelijke mensen. Ik ben op redelijk wat plekken in de wereld geweest, maar dit gevoel heb ik nog nooit ervaren. Daar zijn jullie mede ‘schuldig’ aan. De vriendelijkheid, het professionalisme, de relaxedheid, het heeft allemaal bijgedragen aan een onvergetelijk tijd in the Yukon. Ik denk er nog dagelijks aan the Pit, Frank met zijn honden, de grizzly’s onderweg, de adelaar die tijdens het mountain biken overvloog, de goede koffie in Whitehorse en de Brabantse vriendelijkheid in de middle of nowhere.
Er zit niets anders op dan een keer terug te komen."
